Generally, there are four keys on an electronic device (e.g., a mobile phone), namely, a volume + key, a volume-key, a power key and a fingerprint key, and considering that both the power key and the fingerprint can light up a screen, the key may not be selected to be associated with a screen-off clock, and thus, only two volume keys remain. Therefore, the association between the volume + or the volume-and the off-screen clock can be selected in advance, and after the association is established, for example, the association between the volume + and the off-screen clock is established, the mechanism starts to operate. The screen off clock is started, the screen off clock is displayed after the electronic equipment enters the screen off state, the screen off clock is automatically turned off after the preset time is reached (so that power consumption is saved and screen burning risks are reduced), the preset time can be set by a user, such as 3 seconds, 5 seconds and the like, then the volume + whether the screen off clock is pressed or not is detected, if yes, the screen off clock is displayed again, the screen off clock is automatically turned off after the preset time is reached, and if not, the volume + whether the screen off clock is pressed or not is continuously detected.
Also, for example, when the volume keys are multiplexed, there is a problem of conflict with volume adjustment, such as off-screen listening to music or broadcasting. If the volume + is adjusted at this time, the screen-off clock is inevitably awakened and displayed again. Consider that the off-screen clock display is only caused by volume + adjustment (50% probability), while volume adjustment is not a high frequency operation event, and the volume + and volume-keys can be simultaneously pressed to display the off-screen clock.
It can be seen that the display control method described in the embodiment of the present application is applied to an electronic device, and the electronic device is in an off-screen state, when a first target operation for a preset key is detected, a first content to be displayed is loaded, a first display area at the current time is determined in a display area of a display screen of the electronic device, an area except the first display area in the display area of the display screen is used as a second display area, the first content to be displayed is displayed in the first display area, and the second display area is kept in the off-screen state, so that only a part of the area of the display screen is turned on, and the content to be displayed is looked up while other areas are kept in the off-screen state, that is, a user viewing information is realized, and power consumption of the electronic device is also reduced.
